Haften selbstklebende Tapeten auf Rauhfaser, Fliesen & Co.? – Die klare Antwort für alle Wandtypen

Do self-adhesive wallpapers stick to woodchip wallpaper, tiles, etc.? – The clear answer for all wall types

Self-adhesive wallpaper is one of the fastest and cleanest ways to transform a room—no paste, no tradespeople required. But one factor determines the final result: The right surface.

Perhaps you’ve asked yourself these questions, too:
“Do self-adhesive wallpapers actually stick to woodchip wallpaper?”
“Does it work on tiles or latex paint?”

If that is exactly what you are wondering, you’ve come to the right place.

Yes, the self-adhesive wallpapers from Pimp-My-Wall.shop work best on smooth, dry, and dust-free walls.
They often work well on woodchip and lightly textured plaster—you should test a sample here. They generally do not adhere reliably to highly water-repellent coatings such as latex paint, silicone resin, or tiles.

Safest option: test an A4 sample for €1 first

Stick the sample on your wall for 2–3 days. This will show you if it holds on your surface. These designs are ordered particularly often:

Important note in advance:
Adhesion cannot be guaranteed on damp, dusty, or dirty walls—even if the surface is generally considered suitable. Proper wall preparation is therefore crucial.

Why the surface is so important

Our self-adhesive wallpapers adhere best to smooth, dry, and dust-free surfaces. The smoother the wall, the better the result.

Our wallpapers also produce very good results on tiles, woodchip, or lightly textured plaster, as the material is flexible enough to conform to the surface.

However, there are also coatings such as latex paints, silicone resin, or "Elephant Skin" that are so water-repellent and smooth that hardly any adhesive can grip permanently.

That is why we always recommend: Order a sample first and test it on the wall for 2–3 days.
