Covering tiles with self-adhesive tile foil

Old tiles in the kitchen or bathroom don't have to be removed – they can simply be covered. Our tile foils in detailed tile looks transform worn wall tiles into a stylish surface in just a few minutes. Without the need for a contractor, without noise, and without a mess. The self-adhesive foils adhere reliably to smooth surfaces such as ceramic tiles, glass, and smooth plastic surfaces.

Tile stickers or adhesive foil for tiles?

Those looking for tile stickers often think of individual stickers for every single tile. Our adhesive foil for tiles, on the other hand, comes as a sheet (58 cm × 300 cm): one piece covers many tiles at once, the pattern runs continuously, and significantly fewer edges are created. This makes covering an entire tiled backsplash quick and easy. For small accents, simply cut the foil to the size of the tile.

Covering the kitchen backsplash

The backsplash between the countertop and the upper cabinets is the classic area for tile foil: manageable in size, quickly done, no contractor needed. Thoroughly degrease the tiles and let them dry, apply the sheet from the top, and press it over the grout lines with a squeegee. Carefully cut out sockets and edges with a utility knife. It is best to leave the area directly at the hob (under 20 cm distance to the hot zone) uncovered.

Frequently asked questions about covering tiles

Can you simply cover tiles?

Yes – with self-adhesive tile foil, it's quick and clean. The foil adheres to smooth, clean tiles and can be applied without tools. Important: the tiles must be free of grease and dust.

What is the difference between tile stickers and tile foil?

Tile stickers are usually individual squares the size of a tile. Tile foil is a continuous adhesive film on a roll that covers several tiles at once. This saves time and ensures a uniform pattern without many joint edges.

Can I cover the backsplash in the kitchen?

Yes. A clean, grease-free surface and some distance from the hob are important. Wiping with a damp cloth is fine; please avoid scouring agents and steam cleaners.

Can you also cover floor tiles?

No. Our tile foils are made for wall tiles. On the floor, shoes, chairs, and furniture casters put stress on any adhesive foil – vinyl is the better choice for that.

Do tile foils also stick in the bathroom?

Our tile foils are moisture-resistant and suitable for bathrooms – however, not for the direct wet area (shower, bathtub). They are ideal for splash zones around the sink.

How long do the foils last?

When applied properly to a clean, smooth surface, the foils will last for several years. They are lightfast, scratch-resistant, and easy to clean.

Can the foil be removed without residue?

Yes. The self-adhesive material can be peeled off without leaving any residue – perfect for rented apartments.

What sizes are available?

Every tile foil is available as a wallpaper roll (58 cm × 300 cm, approx. 1.74 m²) or as an A4 sample for testing.
